Role OverviewAn Account Manager should have a firm understanding of how PR fits into marketing communications, including how elements support each other to maximise cut through. Knowledge of digital communications is paramount. The role requires the ability to manage campaigns and projects concurrently so flexibility is key. An Account Manager needs to ensure there is a robust planning process in place and is responsible for ensuring client accounts and junior team members are managed effectively to deliver successful programmes. Excellent writing skills are required. Self-sufficiency and self-motivation are needed, along with a proactive, can-do attitude which inspires and motivates others within their teams. Effective client management skills are essential with Account Managers liaising with and providing counsel to stakeholders at a range of levels. Confidence and tenacity will add value, as will a hunger to seek out new business, whether through organic client growth or through networking to find new prospects. Account Managers should also be curious, always looking for new ideas and opportunities, with good listening and observation skills. -
A Senior Account Executive should have a strong understanding of the PR industry with the ability to manage some campaigns and projects. The role requires a strong level of writing across a range of forms, from tweets to thought leadership articles or advertorials and a level of self-sufficiency, while at the same time the ability to work effectively as a part of a team. Senior Account Executives need to inspire and help manage junior members of the team. Self-motivation is a must, along with a strong passion for the industry. Professionalism is required as the role begins to involve management of different levels of stakeholders, from media, to clients, to other senior colleagues. A positive and tenacious attitude are beneficial to thrive in a busy, yet rewarding environment. Senior Account Executives are expected to have begun to develop a strong set of contacts, including media, bloggers and other influential stakeholders relevant to their work. Knowledge and understanding of digital channels is required, along with a creative and curious mind. At Senior Account Executive level you will also have commercial understanding and exposure to finance and budget planning.
